The unique feature of the AGCAP program is that learning goes beyond the classroom and includes block release training and enrichment tours.
All students who study agriculture or related qualification as part of their HSC have the opportunity to join a seamless pathway to Ag College, TAFE or other RTO (Registered Training Organisation) right through to University.
Primary Industries or Agricultural Science
Students undertaking the Certificate II in Agriculture (through the Primary Industries course) or enrol in Agricultural Science are eligible to participate in the AGCAP program.
School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT)
Year 10 students who take up an (SBAT) in agriculture or related field are eligible to participate in the AGCAP program including;
Certificates II in Agriculture, Horticulture or Meat Processing.
These are school based traineeship delivered by the school, plus a 60-hour specialisation course delivered Tocal College (Agriculture),TAFE (Horticulture) or Response Learning (Meat Processing) plus 100 days paid employment.
Certificates III in Agriculture or Beekeeping
These are delivered by the school or an RTO plus a 60-hour specialisation course delivered by Tocal College (Agriculture) or HIVE Training Solutions (Beekeeping). Agriculture SBATs undertake 180 paid employment and training while Beekeeping requires students to undertake 120 days in paid employment and training.
